Hi everyone! I wanted to talk about the ‘Save To’ option on a job application question.
For the unfamiliar, you can find our Knowledge Base article on building job applications here: https://help.catsone.com/article/139-building-job-applications
If you scroll about halfway down the page, you’ll see a paragraph describing what I’m talking about:
By default, answers to custom questions will be saved to the application only, and can only be viewed by viewing the application.
You also have the ability to save the answer to a field, either default or custom. This will enable you to search and sort your candidates based on how they answered your question(s).
Saving candidate’s answers to the application is fine for many questions, but there are huge benefits to saving their answers to a field. Saving to a field grants you the ability to filter, sort, search, and export all of the candidate’s responses.
It’s also pretty simple to set up!
First, just make the custom field on a candidate profile.
Then, when creating a new application question, click ‘Save To’ and select the field you just made.
Creating the field ahead of time means you don’t have to worry about all the other things like Type, Size, Options etc.
